We live in a world that celebrates speed.
Grow faster.
Do more.
Know more.
Become more.
It can be easy to believe that if our spiritual lives aren’t moving quickly, something must be wrong.
Yet creation tells a different story.
The mighty oak never rushes.
It doesn’t compare itself to the wildflowers blooming around its roots.
It doesn’t strain toward the sky hoping to impress the forest.
Year after year, season after season, it quietly does the unseen work.
It grows deeper before it grows taller.
The Father often works the same way within us.
There are seasons when it feels like nothing is happening. Our prayers seem quiet. Our progress appears slow. We wonder if we’ve somehow fallen behind.
But beneath the surface, roots are reaching toward Living Water.
The deepest transformation rarely happens where everyone can see it.
It happens in hidden places.
In quiet mornings spent with the Father.
In choosing forgiveness when resentment would be easier.
In trusting when answers have not yet come.
In returning to love again and again.
These hidden moments become the roots that allow us to stand when life’s storms arrive.
The oak does not survive because it avoided the wind.
It survives because its roots learned where to find life.
Perhaps the Father is not asking you to hurry.
Perhaps He is inviting you to become deeply rooted in His Love.
When your roots grow deep, your fruit will come naturally, in its proper season.
You do not have to force what the Father is faithfully growing.
